Tardy Policy

At Cy Springs High School, we believe punctuality is essential to student success. To support academic excellence and maintain an orderly learning environment, we enforce the following guidelines regarding tardiness:

Class Transition Time

• Scholars have 6 minutes to transition between classes.

Definition of Tardy

• A student is considered tardy if they are not inside the classroom on or before the bell rings.
• Arriving 10 or more minutes late to class will be recorded as an absence.

Tardy Accumulation

• 3 tardies in the same class equal 1 absence.

Consequences of Excessive Tardies

Excessive tardiness may lead to the following:

• Loss of course credit
• Parent/guardian contact
• Attendance conferences and contracts
• Additional administrative consequences
