About Us
Year Opened: 1997
Cypress Springs High School (CSHS), commonly known as Cy Springs, is located at 7909 Fry Road in Cypress, an unincorporated community in Harris County, Texas. The school serves students in the Cypress and Katy areas and is part of the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District (CFISD).
Cypress Springs High School opened in 1997, becoming the sixth high school established within CFISD. Since January 2026, the school has been led by Dr. Plas Williams Jr., who assumed the role of principal following the tenure of Dr. Cheryl T. Henry, who served from 2015 to 2025.
Prior principals include Mr. Travis Fanning (2012–2015), Mrs. Barbara Weiman (2008–2012), who was promoted from Associate Principal, and Mrs. Sarah Harty, who served as principal until her selection as the inaugural principal of Cypress Lakes High School when it opened in 2008. The school’s founding principal was Mr. Allen Meek, who played a key role in establishing the campus in 1997.
The Class of 2008 marked a milestone as the largest graduating class in Cypress Springs history, with more than 1,000 students receiving diplomas at the Richard E. Berry Educational Support Center.
During the 2005–2006 school year, student enrollment exceeded 4,000 due to significant residential growth in the surrounding community.
In 2016, CFISD implemented a major high school rezoning initiative. Cypress Park High School opened and assumed a portion of the Cypress Springs attendance zone, while another portion was reassigned to Cypress Lakes High School. As part of this process, a section of the Langham Creek High School attendance zone was reassigned to Cypress Springs.
