🎬🤝 Community Connection: CTE in Action at Cypress Springs

February is Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month, and at Cypress Springs High School, we are proud to highlight the powerful partnerships that bring real-world learning to life for our students.

Under the leadership of Ms. Ahmad, our Audio Video Production teacher, students in the Audio Video Production Practicum program had the incredible opportunity to participate in a professional video podcast shoot at **Hunt Law Firm’s Cypress office — located just across the street from our campus.

With mentorship from industry professionals at Studio 1441, students worked on-site to produce two holiday-themed promotional videos for Hunt Law Firm. From setting lighting and managing production equipment to directing and editing content, our students experienced what it truly means to work in a professional media environment. This hands-on collaboration allowed them to apply classroom learning to authentic industry projects — building confidence, technical skills, and professional connections.

Our partnership with Hunt Law Firm extends beyond media production.

This semester, a practicing family law attorney from Hunt Law Firm is mentoring our Future Lawyers in Practice (FLIP) team as they prepare for competitive mock trial. Sponsored by Ms. Russell and Ms. Davenport, FLIP is proud to be the only competitive mock trial team in CFISD.

Through this mentorship, students analyze case materials, practice courtroom etiquette, construct arguments, and prepare to present cases “beyond a reasonable doubt.” They work alongside practicing legal professionals who provide insight into the legal field and guidance on pursuing careers in law.

Programs like these help students envision their futures with clarity and purpose. Exposure to industry professionals while still in high school empowers them to explore career pathways, refine their interests, and build the professional skills necessary for success.

At Cypress Springs, community connection is more than a theme — it is a commitment. When local businesses invest in our students, we create meaningful experiences that impact both our campus and the community around us.

With the support of partners like Hunt Law Firm, our Panthers continue to do great things. 🐾
